Open Access Policies

TheRevista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA  is published by the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí with the main objective of ensuring the democratization of knowledge, the promotion of open science, and the adoption of international standards in the publication and dissemination of scientific and humanistic information. These policies reflect the institutional commitment to transparency, equity, and universal accessibility.


A. OPEN ACCESS POLICIES

All scientific journals hosted on the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí’s Journal Portal will adopt the following open access policies:

  • Articles, in any of their versions, will be available in electronic format for both authors and readers, without the need for registration or payment.

  • Access will be immediate, free of charge, and supported by international open science standards.


B. OPEN ACCESS COVERAGE

The Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA  of the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí will adhere to international initiatives such as:

  • Budapest Open Access Initiative (2001)

  • Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities (2003)

  • Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing (2003)

Additionally, its policies will comply with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), promoting maximum visibility and accessibility of published content. The journals will also align with the recommendations of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), which advocates for a global repository ecosystem fostering interoperability, sustainability, and inclusive access to knowledge. These efforts guarantee long-term digital preservation and inclusive practices that allow participation from communities in diverse contexts, strengthening equity in access to scientific information.


C. CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE

The Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA  will adopt the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) under the following terms:

  • Attribution: Proper credit must be given, a link to the license provided, and any changes indicated.

  • Non-Commercial: Contents may not be used for commercial purposes.

  • Share Alike: If remixed, transformed, or built upon, the resulting work must be distributed under the same license.

  • No additional restrictions: No legal terms or technological measures shall be applied that restrict uses permitted by the license.


D. ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES (APC)

The Ibero-American Journal of Scientific Innovation JA TUAIDA, hosted on the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí’s Journal Portal, focuses on the dissemination of scientific material and does not have economic interests. Therefore, it does not charge fees for article submission, publication, or access, nor does it financially compensate contributors.


E. EMBARGO PERIOD

The Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA  does not apply any embargo period; access to its contents is immediate.


F. COPYRIGHT

Authors who publish in the Ibero-American Journal of Scientific Innovation JA TUAIDA agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright.

  • Authors authorize the journal to reproduce, disseminate, and distribute their work under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license in various electronic formats.

  • Authors authorize dissemination of contents in directories, catalogs, databases, or other portals/devices for online consultation, subject to the conditions of each portal or repository.

  • Authors may establish additional non-exclusive agreements to distribute their published version (e.g., deposit in an institutional repository), provided they acknowledge the original publication in the journal.

  • Authors accept the CC license, self-archiving conditions, and the access policy adopted by the journal.


G. ARTICLE ARCHIVING POLICY

Each article published will be available individually on the web in at least two formats (PDF, HTML, EPUB, etc.). Articles will be harvested with their metadata on the platforms defined by the journal’s deposit policy. File management will be handled exclusively through Open Journal Systems (OJS), with periodic maintenance, data backups, and security copies.


H. SELF-ARCHIVING POLICIES

To increase dissemination, authors may deposit the final published version of their articles in various repositories, share them on social networks, or distribute them by any means they consider appropriate to increase visibility.


I. DEPOSIT POLICIES

The contents of the Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA  may be deposited on platforms using OAI-PMH protocols (Open Archives Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), such as: institutional, international, regional, or national repositories; other open repositories (e.g., ArXiv); author’s personal websites; and other reputable open access services that comply with FAIR principles.


J. READERS’ RIGHTS

Once published, readers have the right to freely read, download, print, and distribute articles, provided that author rights are acknowledged, the journal’s name is clearly cited, and the source is correctly referenced, with or without DOI.


K. INTEROPERABILITY

The Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA uses the OAI-PMH protocol to ensure its publications and metadata can be harvested by other platforms and distribution systems:

L. ETHICS POLICY

The Revista Iberoamericana de Innovación Científica JA TUAIDA will maintain an Editorial Ethics and Good Practices Policy, ensuring absolute clarity in scientific writing, guaranteeing publication quality, and respecting intellectual property. All parties involved in journal publication must accept and respect the ethical principles outlined in this document.
